I am very interested in teaching either business or education classes for a college or university.  I really like the on-line format for classes and specifically want to teach on-line.  I have a traditional style resume for teaching.  I really like my resume as it is (prepared by A+).  Some of the higher ed organizations are asking for a CV or a resume.  Do I need a CV?  Will a CV be in my favor or help me land my first  on-line teaching position? I have very limited teaching experience and have not written any books.  I have 2 masters degrees but no Phd. Any ideas?

Hi Beverly:

Welcome to the forum... thought I would offer my opinion. Job seekers in tradiaional fields, that use CVs, such as medicine, law, science, and academia use the term CV when referring to a resume. I would use your resume, but ensure that it is targeted towards online teaching, which is certainly growing in popularity. we have created many documents for that occupation. CVs are used more if you have publications, research projects, committees, inventions, etc. And, CVs are fact based (less aggressive) and longer, resumes are more marketing based (more aggressive).

Hope this helps in some way,
